I can't believe it's been two weeks!

Two weeks since I logged in! That's horrible! Bad mommie! :p

I've been blogging elsewhere...mostly on my homeschooling blog at http://www.blogestates.com/blog/LuAnn. I put (mostly) a weekly lesson plan and then the blow by blows each day. I've been mostly regular on that one except I did not put in a lesson plan for this week.

CPS was out again the other day. They closed the case! You could have knocked me over with a feather. I had gone on a morning walk with Brian. We fed the neighbor horses apples, said hi to their cow, walked over to see Papaw and Granny Phyllis (who weren't there, said Hi to their pets Gar and Sheba (the dogs) and all the various cats. Brian saw a little frog down by the creek and we had a discussion about the various types of frogs and toads and which were likely to be poisonous. Brian is so inquisitive.

Anyway, we were wearing sandals so our feet got muddy and grimy and we went to the well to wash them off. There was an official car in the driveway. I sent Brian home and went to check with Mamaw. I thought maybe it was CPS pumping her for info. She didn't know the vehicle was there. So I went back to the house and the ladies were just leaving. They were the first CPS agents that had ID on them...and they were wearning it around their neck. Both Chris and I commented on it to them. Of the 3 other ladies we've seen, none of them had shown, nor offered to show ID, and only one of them had a business card. Dont' even get me started on the 2nd lady in Texas.

We had just gotten a notice from the Lincoln County School District, which I had assumed and stressed over that they were going to hassle us for homeschooling. It was to tell us that the boys could participate in the federally funded "Reading First" program, even though they did not attend public school.

Speaking of homeschooling, anyone (and there are many, many people) who gripe about parents not being skilled enough to teach their children as someone with an education degree, should take heed of the fact that often trained chimpanzees can pick high-perfoming stocks as well as degreed and licensed stockbrokers. *ppbbtt*

If you've got a minute, I would really appreciate a vote at one (or more) of the following blog raters:
